Internet Safety
Internet Safety
At Lancaster Mennonite School, we want students, teachers and staff to discover and create beneficial information online. Given this, we implement the following measures:
- Through our curriculum, we learn together how to be good "digital citizens," seek to understand Christ-centered sexuality, and gain understanding and insight about the dangers of online predation
- We use an industry-standard web filtering solution that blocks destructive content such as pornography and malware
- We record any misuse, including blocked attempts to access destructive content. Administration engages such users promptly, pursuing growth and healing for the offender, and safety for all
- We enable and enforce safety filters on sites such as YouTube and Google search
- When we discover Internet content that should be blocked (or content that was incorrectly blocked) we work with our web filter vendor to promptly remedy the problem
Our students are expected to adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy
Our faculty and staff are expected to adhere to the Internet Policy in the Staff Handbook
As a K-12 school system, we maintain compliance with the federally-mandated Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA)
